Twitter reacts in horror to news The Great British Bake Off will move to Channel 4
It’s official: the Great British Bake Off is leaving the BBC for Channel 4 in 2017.
The surprise announcement last night has since become to subject of water cooler conversations all over the country, far outstripping the interest in the news that former Prime Minister David Cameron has resigned from the House of Commons over Theresa May’s grammar schools policy or that the US have flown nuclear bombers over North Korea.
Fans and celebrities took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the move, which were far from favourable.
Reactions ranged from harrowing predictions of the end of Britain as we know it:
In a few years the UK will be out of the EU and the Great British Bake Off will be on ITV. The country as we know it is dead.
