Strictly Come Dancing faces fix claims AGAIN after it’s revealed Craig Revel Horwood used to mentor Alexandra Burke
BBC show Strictly Come Dancing has been accused of being fixed after contestant Alexandra Burke’s former professional relationship with Craig Revel Horwood is revealed.
The singer received an impressive 39/40 for her dance performance over the weekend, but now it has been revealed that she may have had a distinct advantage before entering the competition. Reports claim Alexandra was previously coached by the Strictly judge for her role in the musical Sister Act.
Fans of the show were left outraged by the news, with one Twitter user posting: ”Should Judge Craig b telling everyone what brilliant dancer Alexandra Burke is given he choreographed her for a year in Sister Act.”
”Didn’t Craig choreograph the musical Sister Act not long ago? With Alexandra Burke in role? So another clear dancer. #scd #Strictly”, a second wrote.
Another viewer said: ”I wonder if Alexandra, who starred in a West End show choreographed by Craig, will make it through. *mugs to camera*.”
Alexandra and her partner Gorka Marquez impressed the panel of judges with their jive routine to Proud Mary on Saturday night, with Craig commenting: ”I have no idea where all that came from darling.
”You were out there dancing to split the atom, my goodness you created a nuclear reaction. Incredible.”
The singer later broke down in tears as she remembered her mother, Soul II Soul singer, Melissa Bell, who passed away at the end of August and would have loved to see her daughter perform.
The X Factor winner cried: “I just wish my mum was here, I really do.”
Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:35pm on BBC One.
