Sean Paul says he’d rather sell KFC than collaborate with X Factor’s Honey G
Sean Paul has claimed that he would rather promote Kentucky chicken than ever duet with X Factor contestant Honey G.
She’s had massive rap artists such as Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent jump to her defence in the past but it doesn’t look like Jamaican musician Sean Paul will be joining the list of Honey G fans any time soon.
Sean Paul appeared on the X Factor results show last Sunday to perform his new single “Rockabye” with Clean Bandit and Anne-Marie. The rap artist was lucky enough to witness Honey G do her thing first hand as she was one of the two acts voted into the sing-off.
However, it doesn’t seem that Sean Paul was all that impressed by what he saw, admitting that he would never be interested in teaming up with the X Factor contestant.
In an interview on The Hits Radio breakfast show, Sean Paul confessed he would rather feature in a Kentucky Fried Chicken advert than collaborate with Honey G.
Speaking about Honey’s rhyming skills, Sean scorned: “Um, I’ve always loved that rhythm… ha ha!”
He then went on to mention a KFC offer that he turned down when asked about a potential collaboration with the ITV contestant: “Remember that ad you wanted me to do for Kentucky? I would probably do that quicker.”
Oh dear. We won’t pin any hopes on that rapping dream team, then.
It was Honey G’s time to leave the X Factor last weekend, after being voted into the bottom two alongside 5 After Midnight. Her rendition of “California Love” by 2Pac failed to match 5 After Midnight, whose heartfelt performance of Labrinth’s “Beneath Your Beautiful” won over the judges.
We’re now down to our final four contestants: Matt Terry, Emily Middlemas, Saara Aalto and 5 After Midnight. This week they will be getting in the Christmas spirit for a festive themed edition of the show!
X Factor continues Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
