Homeland Season 5 Gets Channel 4 Launch Date
Channel 4 has announced that US drama Homeland will return on Sunday, October 11 at 9pm, just one week after it airs in the US.
The new series is set two years after the vents of season four, with Carrie working in Berlin at a security firm after having rejected life as an intelligence agent. From there, she becomes embroiled in an international terror plot as her new field of work brings her face to face with former colleagues.
Speaking about the season premiere, which airs on Showtime on October 4 in the US, Showtime Boss David Nevins said: “The first episode’s going to real deal with Russia, being right next to Russia — what’s Putin up to? What’s going on with this tricky relationship there? It deals with ISIS.
“[Homeland producers have] shown the ability to have a new fresh story. I feel like this story is a very fresh story. It’s themes, I think, will resonate with people. Charlie Hebdo. [NSA leaker Edward] Snowden. It’s interesting elements to this season that brings a lot of things together. As long as they keep it fresh, it’s a show that’s never the same season after season.”
Homeland returns to Channel 4 at 9pm on October 11.
