First look at Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin as Superman in Supergirl
The CW has released the first image of Teen Wolf‘s Tyler Hoechlin in character as Superman for his new role in the network’s hit Supergirl.
Wearing a reimagination of the superhero’s iconic outfit designed by Kiersten Ronning, Hoechlin fits the role to a T as he poses with Supergirl in an early promotional image for season two.
Hoechlin will make his first appearance in the early episodes of the show’s second season, when Superman (also known as Clark Kent) will visit his cousin Supergirl (also known as Kara Zor-El, and played by Melissa Benoist) in National City. The series premieres on October 10 in the US, and is expected to follow shortly on Sky 1 in the UK.
Supergirl season one was a big success for the network when it aired last year, winning an average of 10 million viewers an episode and scooping an approval rating of 96% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaking about his new role at Comic Con last week, Hoechlin told fans: “It’s definitely incredibly surreal. I know the character represents so much to so many people. This is not a generational thing. This is something literally spread across so much time. There is a lot of responsibility with this character. I’m really excited. I have not tried on the suit yet. That will be a moment for sure.”
