Emilia Clarke teases new epic battle scene and more deaths in Game of Thrones season 7
Game of Thrones ran riot at the weekend’s Emmys as the show added another three awards to an impressive cabinet to become the most awarded scripted television series ever.
The stars were out in force representing the world’s biggest television show, of course, and now Emilia Clarke has teased fans about the upcoming seventh series.
Speaking on the red carpet, Clarke, who plays Queen Daenerys Targaryen on the show, said: “Every single word is a spoiler almost, it’s ridiculous. They’ve topped [season 6]. They’ve topped it, again.”
She confirmed she had already read the scripts for the new season, which began filming at the beginning of the month.
“Last season’s battle was, like, ridiculous… but this season is, like, off the shizzay! There’s, like, another battle that’s epic.”
This is quite some statement, as season six episode nine “Battle of The Bastards” achieved an Emmy for both Best Writing and Best Directing on Sunday. Could it really be better than Miguel Sapochnik’s masterpiece?
That’s not all we can expect from the new series, Clarke hinted. Asked what else we should expect, she simply said “You can expect less people.” We think there will be some major deaths this season!
Co-star Maisie Williams, who plays assassin Arya Stark on the show, recently told fans that “nothing will prepare you” for season seven.
Game of Thrones will return in summer 2017.
