EastEnders’ first ever trans actor Riley Carter Millington to leave the show
The cull of EastEnders cast keeps getting meaner. The newest star confirmed to leave the show is soap’s first ever trans actor Riley Carter Millington as Stacey’s brother Kyle Slater.
Riley Carter Millington first appeared on the London-based soap last October as Kyle, a man Stacey believed was stalking her. However, Kyle later revealed himself to be her half-brother and part of the second family Stacey had never known her father had.
There was drama however as Stacey’s family insisted she had no half-brothers, only sisters, forcing Kyle to come clean about his being trans.
Millington is the first ever trans actor to play a trans character on a UK soap.
An EastEnders source confirmed he would be leaving the soap as the character’s storylines had come to a natural end. However, the door will be left open for a return.
Speaking to the Metro, Millington said: “When I landed a six month contract at EastEnders it was a dream come true.
“For that to be extended to a year was something I never expected. However, as the time comes for Kyle to depart Walford, I am looking forward to taking on new roles and who knows, Kyle may find his way back to Walford one day.”
It’s not yet known what Kyle’s final storyline will be, but he is currently the only person who knows it was Steven who robbed the restaurant. Could the black sheep of Beale family be responsible for Kyle’s departure?
