Confirmed: Brooks Way will be replaced by another Group on X Factor
Disqualified singing duo Josh and Kyle Brooks, known collectively as Brooks Way, will be replaced on the singing competition by another hopeful from the Groups category.
The Xtra Factor host Rylan Clark-Neal confirmed the development while presenting his regular gossip section on This Morning, revealing: “It has just been announced they won’t be coming back but I can confirm they will be replaced. I can’t say who, but I think I know who it is.”
Brooks Way failed to perform on The X Factor over the weekend, leading to widespread confusion as host Demot O’Leary told Saturday night viewers: “Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, Brooks Way will not be performing tonight.”
It later emerged the twins had been dropped entirely from the competition after allegations from Josh had assaulted his former girlfriend, Amelia Clarke. They are said to be “gutted” at their dismissal from the competition.
Rylan explained: “It’s really sad about the boys, there was a story that broke at the weekend, the boys are gutted. We wish them well but the show will go on and we will be replacing them.”
The question remains who will be the group to get a second chance to impress on The X Factor, with Rylan was keeping tight-lipped on the matter.
Brooks Way made the live shows of the competition ahead of fellow Judges’ Houses contestants Tom and Laura, Yes Lad, Skarl3t and Four of Diamonds. Presumably it will be one of these four groups that takes Josh and Kyle’s spot in the competition, but the X Factor could be planning yet another big surprise this series.
Notably, Sharon Osbourne replaced Ivy Grace Paredes, who struggled with visa issues, with aspiring rapper Honey G during the Judges’ Houses stage of the competition. This angered fans, as Honey had not managed to successfully complete the Six Chair Challenge only the week before.
